Well, Christian values and conservatism are now in political exile. The good news is that persecution always brings out the best in the church of Christ. As bad as it may seem, we must pray that God moves on Obama's heart and leads him in wisdom. If he resists and becomes the wicked leader many of us suspect he will be, it will be our job as Christians to abound in grace, letting the Spirit guide us in changing hearts and minds at a grassroots level on the issues that are important to God's heart: the preaching of the gospel, the friendship of Israel, abortion, homosexuality, adultery, corruption, and justice. It is likely we will have to do this without the blessing of our Executive, Legislative, or Judicial branches of government, but the potential hardship our nation will soon go through will be a good furnace for refining our resolve and bringing about God's will in the world. I am saddened that America's finest hours may be behind her, and that we will likely be exiting the world stage as major players soon to prepare for the Final Act. However, I am heartened that the road before us will be challenging, will build the character of the righteous, and will help draw distinct lines between the wheat and the chaff. God has truly blessed America. May he continue to bless His church in our time of coming challenge. Peace, Matthew

Very Good post. I think it will be instersting to see how the American Church looks after she has been purified. I know from being a Hisory major I will look back as one of those watershead moments. Also it never ceases to amaze me how we never seem to learn from history. But alas history is HIS Story so He is always in control and in the end His purpose will be done.

We haven't had Christian values and conservatism in a while. Partially true. We at least had a small voice. Now we will be at the whim of Obama (who is quite frankly a HUGE wild-card), "Crazy-Eyed Grand Nan of San Fran" Nancy Pelosi, "Dingy" Harry Reid, whichever liberal morons get appointed to the SCOTUS, and the rest of the left wing nut-jobs who will have an "in".

I am a republican but I am dissapointed in them. They haven't made much progress in the abortion issue, they haven't been fiscally conservative. They in my opinion have been a lot of talk and no work. they failed. And the church has not met it's mandate to take care of those in need and the widows.

Will we still have 85% of people falsely claiming they are "Christian", or will the make-believers have melted away? I guess it depends on how fast the (un)Fairness Doctrine or variations of it get passed, and how quickly free speech in Churches will be quelled.

I think we will see the 85% shrink quickly as it will become less popular to be a Christain in the coming days. The mainstream and Liberal churches have been seeing their numbers drop in the last few decades now the question is what will happen to the Evangelical Churches. But while the percentage goes down I believe we will actually see a true revival as persectuion is always the best way for the Gospel to be spread,

The church needs a good thrashing to be honest. When they spend more on the fru fru and buildings instead of true ministry and outreach we get what we deserve. Part of the problem is that the church turned to politics to do it's business instead of turning to God. My mother was right, we are only a generation away from paganism. Let the refining begin.

God will be absolutly Just in His Judgement on the Church. And in this election the Church has no one to blame but herself for what is coming. Slight Off Topic Matt did you see that our County at least stayed Red even if our state didn't. Maybe there is a little bit of hope for our area.

Well, with God-fearing churches like Rez, Christ Community, and many other faithful Bible-believing churches who currently operate here in Weld County, I expected no less :) Not to mention the new IHOP-esque UNC 24-hour prayer room.

We had a lot of promise, but no follow through. I wonder if Barack will be the same way for the left. quote:

I played a LOT of street basketball at Christy McAuliffe school when I was younger, which is pretty close to your building.

I love Pastor Unruh's teaching. Its a shame that the Tribune pulled his articles but you and I know how worthless the Tribune is. Yeah they actually were in Christy McAuliffe before they got their building. I started going there after we got the building which we are in now. Sunday is going to be a good sermon I just know it even though Pastor Unruh wont get the results of this eleciton until later this week. He was smart and went Hunting this week.

Hahaha... pretty soon us hunters will have to resort to Native American stick throwing and dead-fall traps to get some meat on our table.

I just hope I get to live in the same quality of home as Obama's family members do. Hmmm... would I rather have the Hut Sweet Hut of Obama's brother, or the Slum Sweet Slum of his illegal immigrant auntie?

It's obvious the church has failed miserably. When I hear of Christians supporting a pro-abortionist and know the church is on it's way down. Where are the Godly men leading our churches? How could Christians be deceived by the evil one? I am very disgusted by my brothers and sisters who could support such evil.
