i quess it depends what you consider the "unforgiveable sin" to be. Is the "unforgiveable sin" that which the Bible says it is-blaspheming the Holy Spirit/ completely and fully rejecting Jesus? Is the "unfgiveable sin" that which you, denomination, or favorite preacher says it is": abortion homosexuality etc

The unpardonable sin is mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 12:31. If you read the entire context of this passage of scripture, you see that the religious leaders had come out to hear Him, but they opposed virtually everything He said. As He was casting out demons, they accused Him of doing this by satanic means. They were attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to satan. Also they were rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit in their own lives. The Holy Spirit was saying of Jesus,"This is the Son of God. They were saying that Jesus was casting out demons by satan. Then Jesus said, "Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blastphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. If you want to obey God but are concerned that you may have committed the unpardonable sin, you have not committed it. If anyone today has committed this sin, it would be one who is hardhearted, who has turned against Jesus, reviled Him, and become so depraved that he would claim that God's Spirit is satan.

What chasbeck1 said. Hey Mods: How about a one-stop thread for this subject? It keeps coming up.

I remember when I was younger I would be afraid that I accidentally committed the unpardonable sin. Sometimes it still crosses my mind, but I still have a desire for Jesus so then I think, "nah, I couldn't have." :)

i go along with chasbeck here as well. I have also heard it explained that when anny christ comes and christians are delivered up to him for a testimony against him, that they are not to pre-meditate what they are to speak but let the holy spirit speak through them. This could be what you might call Gods elect people, and to refuse the holy spirit in this instance may be considered blaspheming the holy spirit. I was pointed towards the gospel of luke for an explanation of this, but i cant recall the exact location
