How come sometimes on the outside of a folder, a thread title says one thing, and then when I open that folder, the thread title is different? For example...in singles...the outside title for the chat thread would keep changing, even within the same month, but when I would go into the folder it was still just the chat thread for the month. Why is is set up this way, and how is it even technologically possible? I don't understand.

Also, sometimes when I click to go on the last page of a thread, it tells me that message is deleted, so then I click on the second to last page, and the post-er whose message was supposedly deleted is right there before my eyes. I am a little confused about this.

I will be grateful for explanations! Thank you in advance.

anyone can change the title of a thread in their response, but the main title remains the same. I just changed the title of this thread in my response, and the title I chose would be the one that shows up on the main forums page, but when one clicks on the folder itself your title will show up.

I don't know how it's technically possible and I don't think I'd understand if they explained to me, would you?

it just means that a post was deleted sometime around the end of one page or beginning of the next, and it could be a post was deleted just before the message you read, or it could mean a bunch of posts were deleted.

You don't really know which post was suppose to be deleted. If it was meant to be deleted then it was deleted.

LOL The post you see at the end is not the post that was deleted or you wouldn't be able to see it.

No, I wouldn't, seeing as how I can't even understand cameras, cell phones, etc., no matter how hard I try.

And, depending what post the person who responds clicks on, the title may change back to the original title, or to the title of whatever post they respond to.

I responded to the OP, so the title changed back.

Also, I have seen people get really huffy when someone changes the title of a thread they created.

It isn't a TOS to change the title of your post, but it is disruptive to post "Who changed the title of my thread??!! That is just so wrong!! Stop doing that right now!!!" I have seen people do that a lot. If someone does it and it bothers you, just change it back in your next post. Chances are most people dont even notice it

(That was not meant for you, Jewels, but for someone who may read this and need to know it )

Cindy, did you do that?

That was me. When you look in your post box, you will see the subject line. You can write in that line to change the title.

I change the titles of the thread sometimes, just because I can.

Don't feel bad; I've been in the electronics industry for more than 30 years and I don't understand how it works either!

Sometime it's fun to change a title just to see if anyone catches it!!! (Like saying Happy Birthday ______ to see if the birthday guy/gal realizes his/her well wishes)

In fact, it can be very entertaining to carry on a second conversation through thread title changes. Not that I'm necessarily advocating that be done...
