Anyone still drinking vinegar? I have a relative who has been struggling with very high blood sugar readings in the mornings and it drops during the day to almost normal. She saw on the ADA site that taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in water plus eating an ounce of cheese right before bedtime would help lower the morning blood glucose readings. She just started trying this and so far she's had good results.

I got out of the habit of it, but I'd like to start drinking it again. A co-worker was telling me just yesterday that she adds ACV to fat-free Ranch dressing and it makes it taste like the full-fat version. I think I'll try that.

When something so cheap does so much good, I'm not going to stop!!

I am still drinking it too!!! Have not been back to have blood work to see what the true benefit is but am expectant that it will be good. Now I have a question for those of you that are drinking it every day. Does it seem to give you a problem with constipation? Just curious. I am noticing it a little and it has never been a problem before. Thanks for the repys. Heidi

I have a question too. Couple of winters ago I did the spoon bomb thing mixed with a little bit of water, and my sinuses dried and cracked out so bad. Never had a sinus problem to begin with. If I drink it way diluted, will this actually prevent that from happening even tho I am still drinking the same amount of vinegar?? I read that way back in this forum, which doesnt make sense since i am still drinkin gthe same amount vinegar. Why whould that help?

I haven't experienced any sinus issues that you described. Just make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water (and staying away from things that dehydrate) and maybe run a humidifier, especially during cold dry seasons. One of our patients began using ACV a couple of weeks ago. She only wanted to implement one change at a time (so she would know what was working and what wasn't), and she lost 6 pounds that week. She has a lot more to lose, but she was excited. Now she is exploring all kinds of healthy ideas. That's very cool to see.

When I first saw this thread about drinking vinegar, I was a bit skeptical. But after reading only the first page, I figured I'd give it a try! I made a cup of vinegar (only one teaspoon) with two teaspoons of honey) to start with. Then when I read that somebody mixed tea with the vinegar, that sounded even better. So, now I'm on my second teaspoon of vinegar, with tea, and more honey. We had a guy staying with us last year for about a month. He drank vinegar mixed in his water bottle everyday! I thought he was nuts!!! I also have acid reflux very, very, very bad! I've been taking prilosec (or whatever generic version the insurance covers) for many years. If I miss the pill even one day, I'm so miserable, I can't even go to work. I thought I was going to lose my esophegus at one time! I'll keep trying vinegar and see what happens. Maybe I'll try to stop the acid reflux medicine as an experiment .... Oh yeah, I'm drinking blackberry tea with the vinegar and honey. Tastes pretty good!

Does anyone know if there is a limit for how much vinegar you should drink each day? This is my third day drinking vinegar. I had four teaspoons the first day, one for each cup of hot water with two-three teaspoons honey for each cup. Second day, three teaspoons. Today I've had three teaspoons of vinegar so far. I'm drinking two teaspoons at a time now. Will dry several more doses today. Seems to quiet my cough a little. My sore is getting better. Don't know if the vinegar is doing anything, or if it's just time for the bug to go away ....

You Yanks make me laugh with your sweet tooth! Cider vinegar is lovely and it's really not that sharp at all! I imagine it would be far better for you without the honey. In the UK it's pretty standard fare to have vinegar on the table along with salt and pepper. (I remember having to ask for it at a restaurant in Texas, and being given pretty strange looks!!) vja4him, I've no idea about the daily maximum - but I just had at least 7 or 8 teaspoons sprinkled on my baked beans and fried eggs on toast, if that's any help!

It was a 100% fruit juice blend, mostly grape flavor. I put it in about 16 ounces (errr... 500 ml) of juice. Today I did something similar, but used less vinegar. Later on I had a refill - about 1.5-2 Tbsp of vinegar, then poured in the juice... uh oh - I'm out of juice and only have about 10-12 ounces of juice in my glass! Well, it was stronger, but I suppose because I had had some earlier in the day, it didn't seem as bad this time. (I usually don't do this, but I had made a pitcher of juice from frozen concentrate because I've got a cold and wanted different fluids than JUST water, and the first time I drank some, it seemed too sweet, so I decided to add some ACV to it to tart it up a bit. And THAT is a run-on sentence!)

And THAT is a run-on sentence! Yeah, but you have a cold so probably have a foggy brain right now... if it's cold where you live, you may want to consider diluting the juice down further and heating the juice up some to get some warmth into you ~ don't boil it though.
