I suggest that if you want this allegation to be effective, you are going to have to explain the significance. The fact is that virtually all of the respected foreign policy experts are in the CFR. And despite Hal Lindsey, most do not think that the CFR is the Beast or satanic. Nor do most think it is in any form a devious organization.

To me that association only firmly establishes Huckabee as part of the establishment that is seeking globalism at the cost of some of our sovereignty. But I doubt that many see the same connection.

Anyways, all of that to merely make a recommendation that when you speak of such things, you should give the reader more context so that the core issue is understood.

You are right that many readers, regrettably, don't know much about the CFR. But, they should. It's as important as sanctity of life, taxes, or religious freedom. And I appreciate your suggestions. However, I'm tired of doing people's homework for them. Anyone who cares about the sovereignty of this nation needs to initiate their own research. The internet is overflowing with independent, credible sources of info on the CFR & everything else. Unfortunately, most Christians are like sheep & believe what they hear--especially if the person saying it quotes enough Bible verses.

I got it! maryg2g is Hillary Clinton in disguise! She knows Huck is gonna Goose Gosage her and she's gotta try to road block him ASAP. Don't be taken in, my fellow posters!

TheosCentric -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/9/2008 1:38:00 PM)

Huckabee cannot defeat either Hillary or Obama. McCain stands a good chance, but Ron Paul stands a better chance, IMO.

Huckabee is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

nealmorsefan -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/9/2008 1:54:30 PM)

Ron Paul can't win a Republican primary...spare me.

TheosCentric -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/9/2008 2:24:08 PM)

Huckabee can't win the presidency.

Actually, the only reason I post on this forum is because I assume mostly Christians post here. I'm deeply grieved that any Christian would believe what Huckabee (or any candidate) says without doing sufficient research to verify his claims. Anyone who thoroughly checks out Huckabee's history can discover for himself/herself that he is a masterful deceiver. I'm ashamed that he disgraces the name of Jesus. FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS MY STATEMENTS ARE HARSH, PLEASE DON'T RESPOND TIL YOU'VE DONE AT LEAST 10 HOURS (I'VE DONE AT LEAST 100) OF SERIOUS INDEPENDENT, CREDIBLE ONLINE RESEARCH ON THE MAN. (That doesn't include his website if you're not sure what INDEPENDENT means.) Don't forget YouTube where you can see & hear him live & in person.

Disgraces the name of Christ Jesus? Actually i think it is you who does that. BTW. I will listen to the words of three of the better presidents of the SBC we have had in the past 30 years (Draper, Graham, and Vines). Draper and Vines were apart of the Conservative resurgence in the 80's. Are you saying these three CHRISTIAN leaders also disgrace the name of Christ Jesus as well? I suppose all the baptist Churches of Arkansas who elected Huckabee President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, also disgrace the name of Christ Jesus. Or are you one of those folks who thinks the entire SBC is a disgrace to Christ Jesus?

2shaye -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/9/2008 11:20:16 PM)

I'm definitely concerned about this one world government and the proposed superhighway. If Huckabee is associated with that, then I most definitely need to rethink supporting him!

PolarBear -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 2:06:20 AM)

This is at least the second person slamming Huckabee without backing it up. There are some legitimate criticisms of him -- raising taxes, soft on illegal immigration, maybe even soft on crime. But a "masterful deceiver"? Puhlease.

Oh and I think if he gets the nomination, he would have an excellent chance of beating at least Hillary ... Obama might be closer.

Damn I am sick of this BS political backstabbing idiotic rhetoric. Chris, you dont know JACK about who can win or who can not. I am sick of people looking at ONE thing that a canidate does and using it to discredit them. That is childish, and the ONLY thing that will succeed in doing is splitting apart the everyone on the concervitive side, thus ENSUREING that Clinton or Obama gets elected. The attitude that some of you have, that you would rather have Clinton in office rather than Huckabee or Romney in office is pathetic, and shows you care more about personal vendetas than for the well being of this country. It shows that you lack common sense and would rather throw the baby out with the bath water, than rally behind a canidate in one unified voice. Do you know why there is no one perfect GOP canidate. Well there are TWO reasons. One, there will NEVER be a perfect canidate. But two, it is because the GOP is so divided and splintered that no one canidate can exist. Because someone who cares more about their personal goals rather than the good of the nation will throw out everyone that does not meet their perfect little expectations. Never mind Romney is telling us what he wants to do, he ONCE did something else so we cant trust him. Never mind that Huckabee is one of the most solid social concervitives, he is a fiscal moderate so we must get rid of him. Never mind that McCain is solid when it comes to foreign policy, he is weak else where so we must get rid of him. Here is a news flash, Ron Paul is not perfect either. Frankly his isolationist agenda scares the snot right out of me. So there IS NO PERFECT canidate. Can we stop with the back fighting and the BS PLEASE!

Cursing? That's unbecoming of you, Stephanos.
1). Chill out.
2). Ron Paul is not an isolationist. You obviously have not studied your facts.
3). Huckabee associates himself with John Hagee, a heretic who denies that Jesus is the Messiah, calling Hagee one of America's great Christian leaders.
4). Huckabee is a Zionist who's going to allow what I consider false theology about Israel to dictate his foreign policy in the Middle East.

One wonders how much money Huckabee is getting from AIPAC for his candidacy.

Vines? What a joke. The same guy who stood up in front of the SBC and said that Muhammad was a demon-possessed pedophile. I'm sure all of the IMB missionaries in Muslim countries loved that one.

Point on Huckabee: He has a religion degree, not a Bible degree. He does not even have a masters. NOt that degrees are all that important, but I should think that if you're going to lead the largest corporation in the world, one should be better educated.

Huh? I just read the Wikipedia article on John Hagee, and I see a lot of nonsensical dispensational beliefs, but no heresy. Are you sure he denies Jesus is the Messiah?

PolarBear -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 6:38:18 AM)

This is from Hagee's church website about what they believe:

The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God. We believe in His substitutionary death for all men, His resurrection, and His eventual return to judge the world.

Allegations that he believe Jesus is "not the Messiah" do not seem warranted.

In looking around the church website, there's some things that are a bit disturbing, but I see nothing heretical.

TheosCentric -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 8:07:24 AM)

It's in his latest book, In Defense of Israel. There is a thread in the Church section and in the Christian Doctrine section on this topic. I have also posted a response from Hagee on my blog.

cow451 -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 11:39:13 AM)

I would be interested in more information about Huckleberry's time as a church pastor. I haven't seen or heard much about it. The Hagee stuff is a red herring IMO.

I have searched, but that information is scarce. He does have his position on Israel on his website.

TheosCentric -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 11:53:25 AM)

Some info on Huckabee himself, but more on his term as governor than anything:

http://www.encyclopediaofarkansas.net/encyclopedia/entry-detail.aspx?entryID=108

Note: the info is written by someone from the college that Huckabee attended, so it's probably biased.

TheosCentric -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 12:08:14 PM)

Here's a good article that explains a lot about Huckabee's background:

Ps103 -> RE: Mike Huckabee (1/10/2008 12:45:31 PM)

We have a thread on Huckabee HERE.

Please move the discussion to that thread.

Thanks.
