Currently reading a couple of books...
1. Just finished "First Light" by the Thoenes. This novel took forever!
2. Still working through "Church History in Plain Language" by Dr. Shelley.
3. "Speaking the Truth in Love to Mormons"...I live in Idaho...you do the math.
4. "Body Life" by Ray Stedman
5. Just today checked out a copy of "The Case for the Real Jesus" by Lee Strobel from our church library, which I'm REALLY looking forward to.
Hmm...not reading any fiction at the moment. Guess I don't need anything else to bug my brain with. LOL

I just went to the library and took out some great books. The one I'm reading now is by Joanne Fluke called the Cream Puff Murder, a Hannah Swenson Mystery with recipes. I also got some really cool picture books and I don't mean children's books. I love to travel but can't always afford to go anywhere. I've never been to Virginia so I took out a picture book on the state that also has some reading. Now I don't have to pay for plane fair, extra luggage, go through a scanner, etc. I can sit in my home and go on vacation. I hope it's a good book because it's very tall. I may get some on different countries too. Happy reading, everyone!

We are so priveleged these days with how we can experience things through other media like books, internet etc :)
I finished the dog stories last night. This morning I've read 2 chapters from Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology. I have another 5 picked out to read later. The person who lent it to me wants it back this Sunday...
I own the 'lesser' (for want of a better word) version so I am picking bits that aren't in mine. The 2 I read this morning were about how books were included or not in the Bible. And the others I have picked out are about the church.

Still have 2 of those 5 'church' chapters to read. I also started on William Horwood's Toad Triumphant (the 3rd wind in the willows)

Well come tomorrow I will be up to my eye balls in all things theological...mostly because the semester starts tomorrow and I'm taking Systematic Theology
1. Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem
2. The Doctrine of God by John Frame
3. Scripture Alone by James White
4.Father, Son and Holy Spirit by Bruce Ware
and
5. God's Greater Glory by Bruce Ware

Had to return Systematic Theology but I did get through those chapters I had picked out :)
Finished Toad Triumphant.
Still reading Arabian Nights - am about halfway through the first volume of three.
Started on Jodi Picoult's Picture Perfect - as usual it is riveting.

I'm about half way through the 54+ young adult books by K.A. Applegate. Re-reading Animorphs really brought back a lot of memories of sneaking downstairs late at night to get a flashlight to read under the covers 
After that I think I will read the hardy boys again!

I missed our local library in VA, I checked out "the power of one" by Bryce Courtenay(SP?)
Our librarian(who had a love/hate relationship with me due to book dues) finally told me after the 5th or 6th time I checked it out that I might as well just plop down the 5 dollars for it, since the friends of the library fund was going to put it on sale next week. The funny part of it was I had been the first person in WELL over a decade to check it out.
I also happened to have moved just before our library sold its ENTIRE collection of KA Applegate books, So I have 1-2 holes in the book series that I have had to supplement online.
I am very amazed day after day how.....Adult, some of the childrens and young adult books are. I mean that in a very good way, but it disturbs me some days how...Dumb some of our "Best" authors are, and to watch them be put to shame by a 24 year old author with his first book series, that he wrote when he was in his early teens.......
(Look up the story of Eragon, and Christopher Paolini if you want to find that one out)
I see concepts in young adult books that deal with life, death, REALISTIC interpretations of how a character starting to mature into a man, or woman, would deal with these problems, and watch them stumble, fall, get back up, dust off, and make the RIGHT choice.
And then I read some of the mainstream fiction and wonder why ANYONE would write it.
Oh well, Pay no mind to the random book vent  Some days I just miss that feeling of walking into a library and ALL those books I wanted to read, and haven't yet...and now its almost a chore to find a new, good author. Makes me want to start back writing again.(that urge has been bugging me for a month or 2 now....Gona have to scratch it or its gona drive me bonkers!)

I love those animorphs books! But I have a few that I've never been able to get hold of to read. They are not in the library and they are too expensive (for me) to buy.
I did hear they were going to be re-published but I have never seen that happen.
I finished my Jodi Picoult yesterday (Picture Perfect) After a great start, it seemed to turn into a Mills and Boon for a while, then it changed again to a 'loose' conclusion (for want of a better word)
Still on Arabian Nights (that will take at least a few more weeks) and not sure what I will start on next. I have quite a few to choose from....
