Finished the Waltons one last night - back with Dannie :)

I'm leaving for a long weekend away tomorrow, so I think I'll take the Francine Rivers with me, with the 5 Bible men featured.

The Waltons. Is that the same Waltons that had a TV show about it years ago? If so, who is the author?

Just started Heading Home by John Robinson. Unfortunateley, I had to buy the .azr version, so I can only read it on my home computer.

So I'm also rereading Hammer's Slammers by David Drake when I'm in transit.

Strider, I respect Tolkien for what it is, and its influence on modern fantasy, but, I still have to trundle through it. I feel like the art snob walking out loudly complaining durring a die hard movie, every time I stop reading it, but for some reason, I just cannot take large doses of it. Something about his writing style just sets off my inner critic. Then again, so does Stephen King..........Yea. He just...Irks me for some reason.

Haven't finished reading this week, since my Kindle up and disappeared(And by that I mean I laid the paper down on it, and forgot about it) but now I have it, and will keep reading on.

Thanks, Edwin, I hope you like Heading Home; I had a blast writing it.

And in my opinion Hammer's Slammers is probably the best hard military science fiction novel ever written (but you knew that, didn't you?).

I've known that since I first read it more than twenty years ago.

I was looking at the e-books on http://www.webscription.net, which I got to from the Baen website and saw all of the Hammer's Slammers books in three volumes (the last of which isn't out yet) for $6 each. I'd only read the first book and a couple of the other stories in anthologies and magazines, so I bought the first two. Oh, the memories!

The Calvary Road by Roy Hession. . . for the third time. It is a book worth rereading as is We Would See Jesus (same author).

A looser translation would be: There is no accounting for tastes.

I finished Blink by Ted Decker and I highly recommend it. I loved it so much I am going to see if our library has others by him. It was a staff pick and the librarian said it kept her up at night because she couldn't put it down. I agree!

Now I am reading I'm Not Julia Roberts by Laura Ruby. It's good but I am having a hard time w/all the swearing. I am either substituting different words or not reading them at all. I do like it though.

"Happy Are the Merciful" by Andrew Greeley, and "Pure Pleasure" by Gary Thomas.

(Yes, I can actually read two books at once!)
