(((Cindy))) I had a good cry this morning. Between communion (not ready for that just yet) and worship the pastor read a scripture. Right off, I knew what it was--Romans 8:28-39. I looked it up and read it. Turned me into a blubbering mess. After the service I did go forward for prayer. Not sure exactly what happened, why that scripture hit me so hard, but God is doing something. But, yah, blotchy face and headache. I went home and took a nap!

(((Cindy and His)))) My resignation letter was received since I got a call from r and rw. They said they wanted to discuss it and see if there was anything they could do to make it better. When I didn't respond, I got an email saying they want to discuss it and they think there needs to be clarification. I don't want to discuss it anymore-and I am not going to inconvenience myself by driving to the place or by having them in my home. I don't want them here, but guess I will have to respond to their request somehow. My letter was half a page and I specifically did not name names as I knew that would not go over well.

Cindy, I'm sorry you are having such a hard life right now. His, I'm glad you are being moved in a powerful way by the Holy Spirit. I led a friend to Christ this morning. I felt the Lord pressing on me to set aside some time to ask her to receive the sacrifice of Jesus for her sins and to surrender her life to Him. I just knew this would be the day and it was! This is a good friend of mine who I have prayed for years. She wants me to disciple her. I feel a bit overwhelmed by the thought, but it will be good.

I own three snowblowers and of the three the only one that could really handle the 30"+ snow that we got wasn't here. I'd given it to my son-in-law because I didn't have room for it with the others around. It is a wonderful snowblower; but, wasn't at all appropriate for what we usully get around here... 1" to 3". So, I first bought a small 5hp single stage and found that it was perfect for 1-3" snows; but, wasn't so good for 12" snows. So, I bought a 5hp dual stage for the bigger snows and while it might work with a 6" snow it was WAY outclassed by this one. The eleven neighbors are used to me being able to clear all the driveways and sidealks on the block. But, this time they were on their own. I barely got my driveway and sidewalk cleared. This was a HUGE snowfall. At my age shoveling by hand is NOT an option. Too dangerous. Snowblowers are wonderful. But, the range of snowfall depths from season to season, and the fact that they sit most of the time unused, makes them less reliable when the time comes when you reallu need them. It certainly was frustrating for my neighbors. But, that might be a bit of a good thing. When I bought the first wnoblower, everyone came out and took a turn doing with it. But, in recent years, some of them had gotten to the point where they simply expected their sidewalks and drives to be cleared and never even came out to help the cause. This situation might change that since they had to get outside this time since one snowblower was comply down and the one working at all was having a rough time. Now... about the hair... Everything is relative. Compared to your original hair length yours is now quite short. Compared to my hair length yours is quite long. The time to worry is when your hair is short enough for your co-workers to hang up pictures of Uncle Fester (Addams Family) on your door with your name penned on it. Now, I wonder how I would know that kind of thing happens???? quote:
ORIGINAL: his_chosen Yah, we're snowed in, too! I think they said we got 10". It was right at freezing, so the snow is super heavy. Neighbors with snow blowers were having a time! I think it was actually easier to shovel by hand. I suspect that dh's church won't have service tonight. Not sure about mine tomorrow.

I know what you mean Cindy. I am to the point where I feel like I can be a mom OR a breadwinner but I'm really really terrible at both so I'm not doing well at either.

Actually a lot of it has to do with trying to find a job that allows me to still homeschool and work with the schedule of one child in traditional school that won't require me to pay for child care. Unfortunately the jobs that do that get in the way of doing what needs to be done at home. We are scraping by below poverty level right now and I don't know how much longer I can keep it up.

I'm so excited! Joe took the Compass test today and did great! I don't know if it's the same in all states, but the Compass test in Illinois is designed to see if you're ready for college level courses or if you need remedial work. Joe got good scores in all areas and has been approved for entry level college courses! He scored very close to perfect on the reading part. (This is my son who couldn't read when we started homeschooling in 4th grade) We originally only planned for him to do reading and writing skills today. He sometimes has problems with his brain freezing up and I didn't want to push things. Anyway, once the tests get started, they just keep giving you the next one until you're done. He decided to take them all and got recommended for all freshman courses and no remedial work. I'm so proud of him. It's not that I didn't think he was smart enough or that he hadn't been taught what he needed to know. I was just concerned about whether or not his test anxiety would kick in.

Congratulations Sue and Joe!!! R and rw responded to me and said that r never meant to disrespect me in front of others, he only wanted unity with the dancers. Then they said they hoped I would still dance and we would still worship there. Why would you want the person that is causing dis-unity back is beyond me. They thanked me for my service, but did not say I had done a good or satisfactory job. So they are under the false impression that I stepped down only due to the events of last week-completely ignoring the rest of my letter. It's over now for good.

Hi Everyone, I have a very fussy baby today...not sure why but between the snow flying and his crying I haven't done much! I'm feeling a little 'mad' at the public school here. Substitute teaching has always been an open door for my husband to do for a 2nd employment. Well, he wasn't getting calls here, so my husband went to the school just to be told that he wasn't doing things right and that it wouldn't work out. I guess I'm mad because they wouldn't tell him why or what, or try and correct things. He's only subbed around 10 times between last year and this year. I just don't believe he was doing everything wrong for every teacher. At least he gets to be my authorized teacher so that I don't have to report anything to the public school. Anyways, it's a small town and I get a little defensive when it feels like people might, or could be, talking about my husband when he is the most sincere person anyone could ever know. School is going well this year. We are involved in a local homeschool group and have made some wonderful friends. I am so grateful for this! My DD has a 'boyfriend' but we push courtship and so does his parents and it is so nice!! It's nice not to be on the defense to whack off the boys! (lol) Ds just got his permit today, he is 14....it is scary.

Wow, they get permits young in your state, Annie! I'm sorry that the schools have decided not to use your dh and haven't even given him suggestions for improvement.

I tell my husband that we can't see the "big picture", maybe God has different plans for him here. Maybe he doesn't really be needing to work at all. I have no idea. I just know we need to trust in God.

All I can say is that I'm proud of you for sticking at it as long as you have. It is not about being unsuccessful at being a breadwinner or a parent. It's about where your heart is and that is obviously the well-being of your children's development. If and when it comes to the point where a change becomes necessary then it won't be from failure. It will simply be from having to re-evaluate the reality of your situation and making new choices for the overal good of your family.

Snowing here... Ds1 and I went to the gym this morning. Roads weren't bad at all. On our way home we drove by ds2's school. Huh... no cars... Uh oh... You got it. SNOW DAY!!! Of course, ds2 hadn't thought to check (I didn't either!) and headed to the bus stop. We did get an automated call. It came in at 7:05. Ds2 catches the bus at 6:50. Nice...
